Steward's Duties

 

STEWARD'S DUTIES
Arrive at Clubhouse no later than 13:45 to accomplish items below before play commences at 14:15. For evening duties arrive no later than 17:45 for 6 o'clock start.

  1. Enter OBC by unlocking padlock on gate. Please ensure padlock does not go missing by immediately locking padlock to the bolt.
  2. Enter Clubhouse by rear door (two keys) and IMMEDIATELY LOCKING IT FROM THE INSIDE.
  3. Unlock front door (key to found in key cupboard) & raise shutters (see Richard Bickell attachment)
  4. Change rink settings as per colour codes found inside Clubhouse.
  5. Allocation of rinks: This is your responsibility. Please ensure you check the diary for reserved matches, competitions & coaching. Rink allocation MUST be done in accordance with the “Use of Green” rules found attached.
  6. Scoreboards, mats, jacks & measuring sticks to be placed on rinks to be used.
  7. “Scare'm Hawk” to be removed from green. (Please see instructions from Richard Bickell)
  8. Arrange roll-up play using all rink discs for random selection. Please see "Reservation of Rinks” attached. Members to decide format of play & whether a tea interval is taken.
  9.  In wet weather and soft green conditions, it may be necessary to use mats. Enlist help from members. If unsure ask Green Ranger if instructions have not been issued.
  10. Public play: Public may play ONLY if there is a spare rink and they have suitable footwear. Charge £xxx per person per hour. Receipt Book is in Clubhouse (instructions re receipt copies in book)
  11. If time permits, water hanging baskets & bedding plants and perform any housekeeping duties as necessary.
  12. Remain on duty until play ends. Ensure that all equipment is returned to the shed and the shed is locked. Return shed key(s) to key cupboard. Return “Scar'm Hawk” to green. Switch off water heater & ALL lights. Lock & bolt front door and IMMEDIATELY return key to cupboard. Leave by rear door and lock it (both keys). Leave premises by gate and ensure padlock is locked
  13. If necessary return keys to Clubhouse ASAP or arrange personal handover.
  14. If nobody arrives by 30 minutes after scheduled start you may leave & lock up as prescribed above.

USE OF GREEN RULES

ALLOCATION OF RINKS:

The Duty Steward must allocate rinks in order of priority as shown below:

If more than one match is being played the Steward should arrange for players to draw for rinks using the discs.

RESERVATION OF RINKS:

       1. Club entries in outside competitions

       2. Club matches

       3. Members entries in outside competitions with fixed dates

       4. Club events (eg President's Day etc.) & listed drives

       5. Members entries in outside competitions

       6. Club competitions

       7. Roll-ups & casual play
